Calvary careers provide opportunities and sunshine for young family
By coincidence Sam and Sony both accepted jobs with Calvary – Sony as a theatre nurse at and Sam as the Clinical Care Coordinator at residential aged care. The couple connected with an agency, who assisted in the early stages.
“When we started looking at job opportunities, we heard about Calvary and our friends and colleagues told us so many nice things. They said if you get an opportunity with Calvary, go for it,” Sony said.
“The whole process was really simple, thanks to the support of Calvary. From start to finish, it only took about three months,” Sam said.
The family moved to Australia in July, with the big change made easier thanks to the help of Calvary.
“We were thinking about moving to Australia for a long time because of sunshine and better opportunities,” Sony said.
Enriched lifestyle for our girls
Adelaide offered the best of both worlds and an easy transition for their daughters who were born and raised in Ireland.
“For our girls, Adelaide is the perfect choice. It has a good mix of hot and cold weather, and it’s known for its small, tight-knit community feel. Even in traffic it only takes ten minutes to get anywhere,” Sony said.
“Calvary helped us find a good school for our girls and helped us approach the school about enrolment,” Sam said.
“The girls are so happy. On their first day one of them even found a friend, which was such a relief as a mother. The kids in Australia have such nice values…”
According to Sam and Sony, those values are shared by the staff at Calvary. “The welcome we received from Calvary was amazing. We love their open-door policy, and everyone is approachable and warm,” Sony said.
“The residents and families are lovely and the staff look after everyone so well,” Sam said.
Their advice for anyone thinking about making the move: “Definitely do it”.
