Types of aged care we offer
We offer a comprehensive range of aged care options to support the diverse needs of older individuals in our care:
Day Respite
You or your loved one will receive all the benefits of a Calvary Aged Care home for the day, which can include an overnight stay if required. We provide Day Respite Care residents with quality meals and invite them to take full advantage of all the available leisure and lifestyle options.
Dementia Care
Many of our homes offer Memory Support Units, providing specialised support and assistance tailored to the unique needs of individuals experiencing memory loss and cognitive decline, focusing on promoting comfort, safety, and quality of life.
Respite Care
Flexible, short-term care providing interim support when your regular carer is unavailable or needs time to rest and recuperate from ongoing care commitments. It is also a great opportunity to experience our wonderful care and community, and to assess whether permanent Residential Aged Care is the right next step.
Residential Aged Care
Continuous supported care in one of our Calvary homes tailored to your individual needs, ranging from 24-hour nursing and personal support to daily lifestyle programs designed to promote wellbeing and social engagement.
Five simple steps
How to get started
We’ve created the following five-step guide to help you navigate through the process of accessing the best aged care service for you.
1. Register for subsidy eligibility assessment
The Australian Government will subsidise a move into an aged care residence if the applicant meets the eligibility criteria.
To organise a free assessment with the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT), register with My Aged Care online or call 1800 20 04 22.
2. Choosing the right home
If you’ve been assessed and are ready to find a home, taking a tour is the best way to assess the overall feel and quality of a particular home and give you and your loved ones peace of mind and confidence in your aged care choice.
Not only will you be able to see the facilities, amenities, and atmosphere firsthand, you'll also get to meet the dedicated team of carers who will work with you to ensure your care needs are met.
3. Understanding the costs
The cost of residential aged care is the sum of up to four types of fees:
The basic daily fee
The means-tested care fee
Accommodation fees
Fees for optional services
The cost of these components needs to be well understood to ensure that the care is financially sustainable. We recommend seeking independent financial advice before making a decision.
4. Apply for a care home
When applying for a Calvary aged care home, our Calvary Assist team is there to provide assistance with your application and related paperwork.
To find out more, call us on 1800 52 72 72.
5. Settle into your new home
We understand that the experience of moving into a residential care home can be challenging at first, and we have strong processes and steps in place to ensure that our residents feel right at home from the very beginning of their stay.
