About this hospital

Calvary Adelaide Hospital, provides the highest quality health care to private and self-insured patients.

This new hospital with its state-of-the-art facilities is the largest private hospital in South Australia. Designed by clinicians, the development has always been focussed on maximising the patient experience.

We specialise in acute medical and surgical care, and are one of South Australia’s largest providers of orthopaedic, cardiac, and neurosurgical services. The hospital is the only private provider of 24/7 accident and emergency care.

The 16 operating theatres are equipped to manage highly specialised procedures and are supported by a 20-bed level 3 intensive care unit for patients should they require monitoring for any medical or surgical conditions. The ICU is headed up with specialist intensivists with extensive experience 24 hours a day.

Calvary Adelaide Hospital is proud to associate with a large team of multi-specialist surgeons and physicians who are leaders in their field and committed to providing the highest level of clinical care to their patients. Our patients are of the utmost importance to us and we are dedicated to achieving the highest standards of patient care and comfort.

We employ over 1500 people, have key relationships with a range of expert medical specialists and provide care to over 27,000 people each year from our local community and beyond.

The hospital is supported by Calvary’s history and impressive heritage of caring for South Australians since 1900.

Calvary Adelaide Hospital acknowledges that we are on the traditional country of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with the land. We acknowledge that they are of continuing importance to the Kaurna people living today.
