We have a volunteer library service who may visit you during your stay, and we welcome donated books. They are then free for you to take home.
A chapel is located on the first floor at the top of the foyer staircase
It is hoped that whoever uses our chapel will find a place of stillness for reflection, quiet time, privacy or prayer. Please inquire about our regular weekly Mass and ecumenical prayer services.
As it is a sacred space, please do not take food or drinks into the chapel. We commend to you the Stations of the Cross and the chapel leadlight, designed by local artist Meliesa Judge. This sacred art serves as a point of reflection on themes and images that inspired Venerable Mary Potter in her ministry of healing and accompaniment of the sick and the dying.

In collaboration with the Wakefield Sports + Exercise Medicine Clinic, our pre admission clinic provides regular classes for patients undergoing hip or knee surgery.
Flowers and/or gifts will be delivered to your room as they are received.
There are some restrictions to flowers in some areas. We do apologise for the inconvenience if this occurs.
If your hospital stay includes some time in intensive care, there are further restrictions so relatives and friends are asked to send flowers once the patient has been transferred to a ward.
Should you feel the need for a little pampering during your stay we can arrange for a hairdresser to visit the hospital.
The hospital has a hydrotherapy pool and two gymnasiums to enhance outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation services. The facility is supported by our team of experienced staff including allied health staff.
It is recognised that the warmth of the water in hydrotherapy treatment relieves pain, reduces muscle spasm and induces relaxation – allowing a greater range of movement and enhanced rehabilitation.
The hydrotherapy pool will allow even the most fragile and mobility restricted clients the opportunity of purposeful movement and exercise, leading to a more rewarding lifestyle.
Used in conjunction with our high quality rehabilitation service, which includes inpatient, outpatient therapy and community based services, we at Calvary aim to provide a more comprehensive rehabilitation program.
HPS Pharmacies is located in the main foyer/entrance to the hospital.
Please ensure you have available all Pension, Safety Net and Veterans Affairs entitlement cards as well as records of dispensed medication to ensure correct levels or charges are applied.
As a service to you, a pharmacist review of any medication changes that have occurred whist an inpatient can be arranged through the unit manager.
Please note: All discharge medication will be billed by the pharmacist to you direct.
The onsite dispensing pharmacy at Calvary Adelaide Hospital will provide discharged patients with a short supply of their prescribed medications. The pharmacy is also open to the general public.
The pharmacy is owned and operated by HPS Pharmacies.
Mail is delivered daily to each ward, and mail to be posted can be handed to reception before 2pm.
If you wish to receive mail during your stay the mailing address is:
Calvary Adelaide Hospital, 120 Angus St, Adelaide SA 5000
Any mail that may arrive for you after discharge will be readdressed to your home address.
