About this hospital

Offering first class medical and pastoral care for patients and their families, our specialities include surgical services and advanced care for more critical patients, endoscopy and inpatient rehabilitation.

With four operating theatres and two endoscopy procedure rooms, St Vincent’s Hospital provides both day and overnight surgical medical services in specialties that include urology, general surgery, colorectal surgery, plastic surgery, gynaecology surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, gastroenterology and general medical services.

Our High Dependency Unit provides advanced care for more acute patients.

Calvary St Vincent’s Hospital is affiliated with the University of Tasmania and is a first choice placement for a variety of students.

Community advisory group

The Community advisory group assists the CEO with, and provides advice on, community and stakeholder engagement. Through this group local consumers and communities can help us to make the best decisions when it comes to planning our services. Representatives are drawn from a broad cross section of the community and meet with Calvary St Luke’s Hospital executives on a regular basis.

The Calvary Community Council also manage our community benefit programs which include Community Council Grants for local community projects that prioritise the health needs of vulnerable and marginalised Tasmanians.
