New name reflects identity of Calvary at Kingswood
Located in the Adelaide suburb of Kingswood, the installed signage is the final step of a name change first proposed following Calvary’s acquisition at the home in 2021.
Since taking over the home, Calvary has invested more than $250,000 to improve the comfort and care of residents, and to better support staff.
Calvary General Manager South Australia – Aged Care, Ryan Midgley, said the name change marked the formalised beginning of a new era for Calvary at Kingswood.
“At Calvary, it is our practice to name our residential aged care homes and hospitals after the suburb they are located in to honour the place and the local community and I’m delighted the new name is now official,” Mr Midgley said.
“The new signage complements the revamp Calvary Kingswood has undergone over the past couple of years, including a complete refurbishment of the kitchen, repainting the home, making structural improvements and improving the outdoors with the new gardens and walkways for the residents to enjoy.” Mr Midgley said.
Calvary Kingswood Home Manager, Skye Cavallo, said there would be no change to the quality care provided and the same staff would continue to work at the home.
“The transformation of Calvary Kingswood over the last few years has been welcomed by staff and residents. It is now a modern home with a name that represents our community,” Ms Cavallo said.
“I’m incredibly proud of the care we provide at Calvary Kingswood, and this name change, couple with the improvements to the home, reflects our commitment to continue providing high quality care that our residents deserve.”
