Information for consumers

Research

Calvary Health Care understands the importance of engaging with consumers and the community on its role and activities, whilst also providing leadership and guidance to the health and medical research sector on the meaningful engagement of consumers throughout all stages of research and health care.

Engaged consumers, carers, and communities

Consumers are primary stakeholders in research and have an inherent right to be involved.

Meaningful engagement occurs when consumers and community partner with health professionals and researchers to shape what research is done, how it is undertaken, and how results are disseminated and translated into practice.

Consumer involvement in research represents the inclusion of diverse community priorities and concerns, and representativeness on formal committees, and leads to increased research relevance, improved research quality and impact, and strengthened translation.
