Family Violence
Family violence is a health issue that affects many people across the lifespan.
Calvary Health Care Bethlehem is committed to providing high quality care, support, information and referrals to our patients, their carers and family members who are experiencing family violence.
Family Violence is defined by the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 (Vic) as behaviour by a person towards a family member or within a family-like relationship (could include non-family informal carer) that is:
Is physically or sexually abusive
Is emotionally or psychologically abusive
Is economically abusive
Is threatening or coercive or dominating
Causes fear
The behaviour may or may not be related to an illness or disease.

If you or someone you know is being impacted by any of these behaviours the team at Calvary Health Care Bethlehem are able to support you. You can ask to speak with any of the treating team privately or make contact with one of our social workers who have specialised training to support people experiencing family violence. You can also make direct contact with one of the services listed below.

Information sharing schemes
All requests for the release of information pertaining to these schemes must be done by an authorised Information Sharing Entity (ISE) and/or Risk Assessment Entity (RAE). Calvary Health Care Bethlehem will undertake a process of verification prior to the release of any information.
