Treatment options
Chemotherapy treatment
Our inpatient and chemotherapy day patient unit is located at Calvary St John’s Hospital in South Hobart. Specialist nurses are on hand to provide your treatment, monitor your progress and answer questions about your diagnosis.
We understand the first visit can be daunting for many patients, so we welcome you to bring a support person with you. This also offers your companion the opportunity to ask any questions they might have about how best to support you during your treatment.
Radiation treatment
The Gibson Unit facilitates radiation treatment at a facility of your choice by providing private transport to and from radiotherapy. From there, our oncology team will consult with the specialists and staff at your chosen facility to ensure the best possible patient outcome.

At Calvary St John’s Hospital, we place emphasis continual assessment and support for patient symptoms and liaison between patient and medical teams to ensure the best service for our patients.
We find many people living with cancer find it easier to cope when they know more about their diagnosis. That’s why our oncology team are always on hand to provide our patients with the knowledge and answers they need to maintain best physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing during their journey.
Our dedicated care coordinator provides patients with a familiar point of contact throughout their cancer treatment and ensures each one of our patients receives a personalised and streamlined care plan approach.
Working closely with Calvary St John’s social worker, our care coordinator is also responsible for maintaining connections with local organisations and outpatient clinics, so you have access to the community support you need and direct admissions to health services where possible.
