Calvary Muswellbrook Retirement Community opening in March 2017
And, many locals have secured their one, two or three-bedroom villas that feature open plan living, entertainers’ kitchen, high ceilings, lock up garaging with internal access and private courtyards. “The opening is a significant milestone for Calvary and our commitment to providing sustainable, quality health services within regional communities,” Calvary National CEO Mark Doran said. Thirty-six residents are transferring from Calvary Mt Providence to the new site along with aged care residents currently residing at Muswellbrook District Hospital. Existing residents have been actively involved in the commissioning of the site; from selecting their preferred rooms, choosing house names, to developing creative activity spaces including plans for a Hunter Sports Bar. “Rather than refurbishing the existing 40-year-old building, we’re delighted to be able to build a brand new purpose-built facility in a central location for our residents,” Calvary Retirement Communities national director Bryan McLoughlin said. The location at 15 Cassidy Avenue is within walking distance to Muswellbrook Fair Shopping Centre, local health and transport services. Richard Crookes Construction will complete the building works in mid-February and hand the keys to the Calvary Commissioning Team to ensure everything is in place to welcome residents in March. “There’s so much more room at the new facility with lovely high ceilings and natural light,” Calvary Muswellbrook manager Bradley Roberts said. “Residents will be able to potter in the easily-accessible gardens, sit in the sunshine, and the new cafe and gym will definitely be the social hub of the new village. “The residents will enjoy the same friendly faces in a fresh, contemporary and inviting environment.” Calvary Muswellbrook is currently seeking an operator to run the indoor/outdoor cafe. Mr McLoughlin added that with the new opening comes further opportunities for local jobs.
