Official Site Blessing of the Calvary Muswellbrook Retirement Community
John Watkins reiterated Calvary’s commitment to providing essential Healthcare services and investment in Muswellbrook, located in the Hunter NSW region, and other regional areas. The $27m development builds on more than 40 years of care provided to the Muswellbrook Shire by the existing aged care facility, Calvary Mt Providence Retirement Community.
Bryan McLoughlin, National Director of Calvary Retirement Communities, thanked the Muswellbrook Shire Council for their continuing support of the project and confirmed that “Richard Crookes Construction is completing the build by late 2016 and we believe this quality construction will meet and hopefully exceed the expectations of the Muswellbrook community.”
Leading the official site blessing was Sister Bernadette Fitzgerald of the Little Company of Mary, Province Leader of the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary and Father Brian Mascord, Vicar General of the Diocese of Maitland Newcastle.
Residents, staff and volunteers were invited to participate in the blessing of the site.
Among those present were Martin Rush, Mayor of Muswellbrook, Steve McDonald, Muswellbrook Shire Council General Manager; Sister Jennifer Barrow and Sister Ronda Singleton of The Little Company of Mary; Father Anthony Nguyen of Saint James Parish; Greg Flint, CEO of the Calvary Mater; Calvary Community Care and Hunter New England Health representatives and many residents, families, staff and volunteers from Calvary Mt Providence.
Opening the doors in early 2017, Calvary Muswellbrook Retirement Community will provide a 65 bed Residential Care Facility and 22 independent living units.
36 residents currently residing at Calvary Mt Providence will move to the facility along with 51 new residents.
