Facilities

Our hospital offers a range of amenities to ensure comfort and convenience for both patients and visitors.

Calvary St Luke’s Hospital has been designed so that everyone can easily access our facilities, using inclined walkways and ramps throughout. All levels of our hospital are accessible by lifts.

We have clear, straightforward signage throughout the hospital to make it easier to find your way around. The signage uses contrasting colours to help people with impaired vision.

Wheelchairs are available for use while at the hospital. If you need a wheelchair, you can get one by asking the nurse caring for you.

If you’re arriving by car and need a wheelchair, or assistance getting to or from your appointment, please phone 03 6335 3333 for help.

The chapel is located on the third floor, is open at all times, and provides a calm and restful environment for all patients, visitors and staff. Please ask at reception for directions. For Chaplaincy Services please ask a Pastoral Carer or a staff member.

Hand and Foot massage volunteers attend the Melwood Palliative Care Unit regularly to provide support and comfort to patients.

The massages are freely given and very popular with the patients, adding to the holistic care offered at Calvary St Luke’s Hospital.

The onsite dispensing pharmacy at Calvary St Luke’s Hospital will provide discharged patients with a short supply of their prescribed medications. HPS Pharmacies can also fill prescriptions for public patients that have been written by a doctor associated with the hospital.

HPS’ experienced team of Pharmacists provide hospital patients with a range of pharmacy services, including medication supply, clinical monitoring and patient counselling and education.

Due to varying patient needs and individual Health Fund conditions, HPS Pharmacies asks that you have available all Pension, Safety Net and Veterans Affairs entitlement cards, as well as records of dispensed medication, to ensure the correct medication charges are applied. Additionally, upon discharge from the hospital, please visit the pharmacy to pay your account.

As a service to you, a pharmacist review of any medication changes that have occurred whist an inpatient can be arranged through the unit manager.

Please note: All discharge medication will be billed by the pharmacist to you direct.

Post for delivery can be left at reception.

Any mail that may arrive for you after discharge will be readdressed to your home address.
